Mary Lee Bossert, 82, of St. Simons Island, Georgia passed away Thursday, April 18, 2019 at Landmark Hospital in Savannah, Georgia. She was born on February 20, 1937 in Weatherford, OK to the late Miles and Virginia Norman. She attended Wellesley College graduating in the class of 1959. She worked as a neuro-histologist at Massachusetts General Hospital following graduation. From 1975 until 1998 she and her husband were faculty heads of Lowell House, a residential college within Harvard University. She was well known for her entertaining there.
Mary Lee and her husband have been visiting St. Simons Island for over 30 years, renting a house on Ocean Blvd, for much of that time. Finally, in 2013 they purchased a home in the Mission Asao neighborhood on the island. They have been regularly seen around the Island with their two dogs.
Mary Lee is survived by her husband William “Bill” H. Bossert of St. Simons Island; a son Greg Bossert of San Rafael, California; a daughter Sarah Bossert of Felton, California and a granddaughter Isabella.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Monday, April 22, 2019 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
