

She was a native of Helena, Georgia, had lived most of her life in Vidalia before making her home in Darien from 1958 until 1991. After retiring, she made her home on St. Simons Island until moving to Baptist Village in Waycross, GA. She was the daughter of the late George Browning and Geromi Register Browning. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years: Walter Lee Mills, Jr., three sisters and five brothers and a daughter: Martha Sue Taylor.
Mr. and Mrs. Mills were the retired owners and operators of Darien Auto Parts for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Waycross. She was also a former member of First Baptist Churches of Vidalia, Darien and St. Simons Island.
She is survived by a daughter: Marsha Mills Springer (Steve) of Brunswick; five grandchildren: Lee Odom of Tulsa, OK, Heather Miner (Mark) and Don Thompson (Tiffany) all of Boulder, CO, Katie Wilkin (Danny) of St. Simons Island, GA and Russ McHugh of Rutledge, GA; and six great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 2 o’clock in the afternoon at Pinecrest Cemetery in Vidalia, GA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Baptist Village in Waycross, GA or charity of donor’s choice.
