
Mickey was born in Newark, New Jersey on November 8, 1943 to William McCormick and Elaine McCormick. Mickey graduated from George Washington University and moved to New York City where she worked as a copywriter for Revlon. She met her husband and moved to Lafayette, Indiana where she raised her family and worked in various careers, including running her own dance company. For the last 15 years, she has lived in Saint Simons Island, Georgia, working as a decorator and enjoying her semi-retired status. Mickey never met a stranger and was an angel for so many people on Earth.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Nicholas, and is survived by her husband, Edward Kennedy, her son Nick Deets, and his wife, Ann-Marie, her daughter, Tori Haack, her husband Chris, her daughter, Annie Deets, and her partner, Ginah McHugh, stepson Ryan Kennedy, and his wife Sarah, stepdaughter Kristin Weis, and her husband Ryan, and grandchildren, Charlie Haack, Katie Haack, Jackson Deets, Peyton Deets, Crosby Deets, and Poppy McHugh, and friends too many to name.
A memorial service will be held on St. Simons Island on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at 2:30 pm, Beachside at the Georgia Street beach access.
