Maxie was born November 22, 1931 in Macon, Georgia the daughter of the late William Lovic Stephan and the late Gladys Corrine Stephan. She was the wife of the late Jack V. Harvey. She and her late husband moved to Brunswick in 1965. Maxie was employed by the Glynn County Board of Education as a secretary in the Vocational Department. She was also a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Maxie was preceded in death by her parents, William Lovic Stephan and Gladys Corrine Stephan; her devoted husband of fifty years, Jack V. Harvey; a sister, Jeanette Stephan Sapp; one brother, William “Bill” Lovic Stephan Jr. Left to cherish her memories are her three sons, Pat Harvey (Seliest) of Brunswick, GA, Tony Harvey (Kathy) of Gray, GA, and David Harvey of Brunswick, GA; Her four grandchildren, Patrick Harvey of Houston, TX, William Gilreath’ Harvey (Jonathan) of Summerville, GA, also Lauren and Anthony Harvey both of Gray, GA; Three precious great grandchildren, Anna Leslie, Grayson Jack Harvey, and Hayla Glover.
Maxie was a loving and caring wife and mother that devoted her life to her family. She took great pleasure in the time spent with her family. She also took pride in the beauty of her landscaped yard and enjoyed working in it herself. She was a great cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family. Maxie will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Her family will have many fond memories to cherish for years to come.
The family will receive friends during the hours of 6:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. A Graveside Service to honor her life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 20, 2018 in Chapel Park Cemetery with Brother Ritchie Self officiating.
