Michael Leroy Lewis

Mike was born on January 7, 1946, to Ruben and Anita Lewis of Darien, Georgia and Fort Myers, Florida. Mike attended schools in Fort Myers and Darien, completing high school at Darien High School. At the age of 21, Mike met the love of his life, Nan Lewis. They eloped on April 8, 1967. They began their family the following year with the birth of their first son, Mike, Jr., followed by Josh in 1970 and Gabe in 1974. Mike was employed at Altama Delta in his early years. After his employment at Altama Delta, he & Nan opened My Three Sons video store. Mike was an avid sportsman. He played baseball from a young age and was a member of the Darien High School baseball team. His boys grew up at the softball field, watching their dad play. He also developed a love for golf and never missed a chance to play.

Mike was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Nan; his beloved sons, Mike, Jr. and Gabe; his parents, Ruben and Anita Lewis and his older brothers, Don, Billy and David.

He is survived by his son, Josh (Cynthia), grandchildren, Zachary and Anna, all of Brunswick. He is also survived by a brother, Tim (Barbara) of Fort Myers, Florida, along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Zachary Lewis, Don Lewis, Eric Lewis, Palwesh Lewis, Bud Davis, and Bubba Davis will serve as pallbearers. His lifelong friends, David Driggers, Glenn Rozier, James Bonds, Buddy Middleton, Frank Lanasa and Johnny Chambers will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 23 @ Hopkins Cemetery at Crescent Baptist Church at 12 noon.
