

Mike Hollaway, 66, of Hortense, died Monday, October 27, 2014 at SGHS in Brunswick. Funeral services will be held at 2PM, Friday, October 31, 2014 in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Drew Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Bristol Baptist Cemetery in Pierce County, with Jay Boatright, Doug Boatright, Austin Boatright, Joey Douberly, Jason Cowart, Donald Douberly, Greg Boatright and Sammy Stapleton serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include Dr. Collette Lee-Lewis and Staff, Dr. James Heery and Staff, Davita Dialysis Staff, SGHS Staff and the Brunswick Police Department. Born December 18, 1947 in Andalusia, AL to the late M.C. “Mac” and Beatrice T. Hollaway, he was a 1966 Graduate of Bay County High School in Panama City Beach, FL. Mr. Hollaway was a US Navy Veteran of Vietnam, served time with the Georgia National Guard, and served for 20 years at The Brunswick Police Department. Growing up as a military child, he lived in various places including Scotland, TX, FL, VA, AL. For the past 41 years, home became Brantley County, Georgia. He was Baptist in faith, was an avid hunter, and fisherman. He also enjoyed bird watching, gardening, his fish tank, and watching Westerns. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Wayne Hollaway. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Debra B. Hollaway of Hortense, 5 children, Micheal Christopher(Chris) Hollaway and wife Jessica, and Olivia “Michelle” Hollaway all of Brunswick, Marcus “Scott” Hollaway and wife Loucretia of Hortense, Patricia Pratt Reinheimer and husband Gary, and Kennith Doyle Pratt all of IA, 12 grandchildren, Olivia, Rusty, Brandon, Eli, Drayton, Remington, and Kylie Hollaway, Quinton, KT, and Marcy Taylor, and Nicholas and Spencer Reinheimer, 1 great grandchild, Connor Farris.
