Mildred Bunkley Trevathan

Mildred served as a nurse in the United States Army. She earned her Masters Degree in nursing from Georgia Southern University, and was employed as a nurse in many places throughout her career including Dr. Lott’s office, SEGHS, Camden County Health Department, St. Vincent's in Jacksonville, FL, and Glynn Care HIV Center among others. She taught nursing at College of Coastal Georgia for a time as well.

An avid painter and travel enthusiast, Mildred’s enthusiasm for life was contagious. She loved her family above all else, and cherished her beloved dog, Molly. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Brunswick and lifelong Glynn County resident.

Mildred was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Elizabeth Trevathan. She is survived by her three sons, Joseph Edward (Vickie) Trevathan of Richmond Hill, GA, William Brittain (Susan) Trevathan of St. Simons Island, GA, and Matthew Bunkley (Bobby) Trevathan of Roswell, GA. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Aubrey (Cory) Hall of Statesboro, GA, Shelby (Jasper Thornton) Trevathan of Richmond Hill, GA, Brittainy (Steward Anderson) Trevathan of Atlanta, GA, Kaitlyn Trevathan, Anna Trevathan, Lauren Trevathan and grandson Cole Trevathan of Roswell, GA. She is also survived by one great granddaughter, Ella Grace Hall of Statesboro, GA.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Saturday, April 15 at First United Methodist Church of Brunswick with burial to follow in Palmetto Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM on Friday, April 14 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. Pallbearers are as follows: Joseph Trevathan, Britt Trevathan, Matthew Trevathan, Cole Trevathan, Cory Hall, Stewart Anderson and Jasper Thornton.
