I was so sorry to hear of Miriam's passing. And so shortly after Ewell. I worked for them both in the late 1980's on the island. I couldn't have asked for two better bosses or two better people. Such happiness then that ends with such sadness now. My sincere sympathy to her family. She and Ewell both are wearing many jewels in there heavenly crowns

I can't think of my time as a Georgia Southern KD without also thinking of Miriam.  She  was such a guiding force for our chapter during it's early years. Her hard work and dedication helped make KD a positive experience for so many. T hank you, Miriam, and love in AOT.  

“Mother Miriam” trained many young sisters to be true KD Ladies.  She aided us in making memories for a lifetime.  Miriam will be missed!

Miriam was a dear friend , roommate and Kappa Delta Sorority Sister .   Her strong personality gave many of us direction and security as young women .  As others have mentioned “Mother Miriam “ played a role in our young lives that we will always be grateful for .  She was a leader , a loyal friend and hard worker .  I’m sorry I have not seen her in many years , I will always remember her friendship and influence on my life .  I pray that she is resting in peace and reunited with Ewell who she loved dearly.   My Love to her sister Sandra and all of our KD sisters .  Lynn Scurry Zeck 

Miriam was my KD Big Sister and roommate.  She was a strong determined woman even then.  
When I walked into her hospital room right before Thanksgiving, I asked her what in the world the strongest woman I  had ever known was doing lying in a hospital bed.  She asked me who I was talking  to.  I laughed and remarked that there were only the two of us in the room and I was standing up.....we laughed, talked, cried, and reminisced.  Those were precious hours that I will hold in my heart always.
I know without a doubt that she and God are having a  serious discussion concerning her role in Heaven!
Rest In Peace Sweet Friend until we meet again.

Miriam  was a great example of a KD lady.  We shared great times together at Georgia Southern. It was always a joy to  run into her while on St. Simons  and occasionally in Atlanta..  I am sending prayers to her sister and  all of her close friends  on St. Simons.  She will be missed by so many.

Miriam was a Kappa Delta sorority sister of mine at Georgia Southern. She was the Pledge Trainer of my pledge class. I was a little afraid of Miriam because she was tough and expected us to be the very best. We rose to the expectation.  To this day I can still sing the Greek Alphabet. I do believe that I loved KD as much as Miriam loved KD - a gift I was always indebted to her for. 

So many great memories of Miriam and especially KD. She kept us “in check”  and was often referred to as “Mother Miriam”.   It was wonderful having her guidance while living in the KD lodge. A special lady!
