Faye was born in Patterson, Georgia and was one of six children born to Charlie and Pauline (Wilson) Yawn. She married Ollie Dalton Manning on March 13, 1948 and the couple raised three children. Faye was a long-time member of Blythe Island Baptist Church and had a strong faith in the Lord. She loved to garden and work in her flowerbeds. She also loved to sew, crochet and embroider. Faye was an excellent cook, making everything from scratch and never measuring the first ingredient! Her specialty was dressing at Thanksgiving and chicken and dumplings at Christmas. She loved cooking and taking care of her family and took great pride in doing so!
In addition to her parents, her son, Larry Manning, two brothers, Charles and Ernest Yawn and a brother-in-law, Donald Durrance, preceded her in death.
