

Nila Daughenbaugh Geiger, 71, of Pine Harbor Ga. passed away February 27, 2013. Funeral services will be held as follows: Saturday, March 2, 2013, the viewing will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. the service will follow, from 12:00 to 12:30 p.m. at, Morgan’s Chapel United Methodist Church, Pine Harbor/ Townsend, Ga., with Rev. Melissa Traver officiating.
Services will also be held as follows: Wednesday, March 6, 2013, the viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. the service will follow, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at Brown Funeral Home, McAlisterville, Pa., with Pastor Art Mott officiating. The burial will immediately follow, Niemonds Cemetery, Richfield, Pa.
Having moved to the Ga. Coast from Fayetteville, Ga. Nila lived in Pine Harbor for the past ten years. She was a true humanitarian, always willing to help others in her community and church to which she volunteered much of her time. She was member at Morgans Chapel United Methodist Church. She graduated from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio, and from West Georgia College in Carrollton, Georgia with a PhD. She was a leader and mentor to students of Phi Beta Lamda. She retired from teaching at Griffin Tech in Griffin, GA, then became an adjunct professor at the College of Coastal Georgia.
Nila is survived by her loving mother Lulu S. Daughenbaugh, a sister Gloria Ammerman both of Pine Harbor, three aunts Geraldine Leach , Mary Cox, and Faye Shelley all of Pennsylvania, two nieces Debbie Jones of Pine Harbor and Kim (Farrell) Allen of Marietta, a nephew Kenny (Kellie) Ammerman of Newnan, plus many Pennsylvania cousins.
She is also survived by a special friend that she mentored for 10 years Quaniqua Williams.
Flowers may be accepted at Brown Funeral Home or you may make a contribution to Coastal Humane Society or to Morgans Chapel United Methodist Church.
