Norma C. Rogers Bakley

Mrs. Bakley was born January 5, 1932 in Lumber City, Georgia the daughter of the late George C. Rogers Sr. and the late Bertha Rogers. She had resided in Brunswick for the past fifty years. She was the loving wife of Sixty-six years to John C. Bakley. They were blessed to have two children. She was a homemaker and took great pride in caring to her family’s needs. Mrs. Bakley was of the Methodist faith and an active member at Lakeside Methodist Church in Brunswick, Georgia. She will be remembered by her family for making every event or holiday special with her love and thoughtfulness.

Mrs. Bakley was preceded in death by her parents, George C. Rogers Sr. and Bertha Rogers; one son, Lamar Bakley; a brother, George C. Rogers Jr.; one sister, Lois Mallick. She is survived by her devoted husband, John C. Bakley of Brunswick, GA; a daughter, Diann Cook of Brunswick, GA; Two grandsons, Donovan Cook (Lisa) of Fort Pierce, FL and Scott Cook (Melanie) of Brunswick, GA; She was blessed to have six great-grandchildren. One sister-in-law survives, Jane Russell. A niece and nephew also survives, Barbara (Lou) and Kevin Vincent both of New Jersey.

The family will receive friends during the hours of 1:00 – 2:00 PM Friday, October 21, 2016 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. A funeral service to honor her life will be held at 2:00 Pm Friday, October 21, 2016 in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. Reverend Donald C. Combs will officiate the service. The interment will follow in Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Bakley enjoyed sewing, embroidering, and crocheting. She and her husband enjoyed traveling to the different locations that he was stationed at during his twenty years of service in the United States Navy. She loved to spend time with her family and friends always preparing their favorite dishes on every special occasion. Mrs. Bakley will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Her family will have many fond memories to cherish for years to come.
