Patricia Glass Thorpe

Patricia Glass Thorpe, 67, of Saint Simons Island passed away Thursday, March 22, 2012. The family will receive friends from 6-8PM at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home on Sunday, March 25, 2012. A memorial service will be held Monday, March 26, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Saint Simons Island United Methodist Church with Pastor Marsha Cochran officiating. Memorialization will be by cremation.

Patricia was born on November 30, 1944 to the late Albert Daniel Glass, Sr. and Edith DeLamar Glass. She was raised in Eastman, Georgia and lived on Saint Simons Island for the past 11 years. She graduated from Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia with a Bachelors degree in Education. She was a member of Saint Simons Island United Methodist Church and served on the altar committee. Patricia was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Garden Club of Saint Simons Island. She was also highly involved with the CASA program for children and was rewarded CASA of the year for Glynn County.

She is survived by her Husband: Wilson Thorpe of Saint Simons Island; two Daughters: Suzanne (Joseph) Cedotal of Crossett, AR and Jennifer Hart Thorpe of Covington, GA; three Grandchildren: Lily DeLamar Cedotal, Emma Wilson Cedotal and Harper Charlotte Thorpe Lawton; one Sister: Ann (Gregory) Hilliard of Rhine, GA; one Brother: Albert (Diana) Daniel Glass, Jr. of Eastman, GA; she is also survived by several nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her Brother: William E. Glass. The family requests in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the CASA program of Glynn County, P.O Box 145, Brunswick, GA 31521 (912-264-4448).
