Pauline Arnett Hopkins

Mrs. Hopkins is a lifelong resident of Glynn County, born Sept. 21, 1926 in Wayne County, daughter of the late Basil Wright Arnett, and the late Hariett Elizabeth Clary Arnett. Mrs. Hopkins was the owner of J. Hunter Hopkins Insurance Company, and a member of the Jekyll Island United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her sister Betty Proudfoot of Brunswick, Ga., a nephew Millard Rushing of Jekyll Island, Ga. a step-son Alton Hopkins of Atlanta, Ga., and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

In addition to Mrs. Hopkins parents she is preceded in death by her husband J. Hunter Hopkins, a sister Ann Rushing Finley, and a brother Gerald Arnett.

Visitation will be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 19 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wed., Jan. 20, at the Jekyll Island United Methodist Church, with Rev. Bill Reincheld officiating. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. Wed. at Palmetto Cemetery.

Serving active pallbearers will be Sonny Rushing, Gerald Rushing, Harry Proudfoot, Tim Arnett, Bob Coleman, Mitch Coleman and Kim Kennedy. Honorary pallbearer’s will be the Island Hope and Joy Sunday School class.
