Reginald Baxter Sawyer

Mr. Sawyer was a native of Manns Harbor, N.C. and had been a resident of McIntosh County since 1959. He was a commercial fisherman in McIntosh County and was of the Methodist Faith.

Mr. Sawyer is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Sawyer, two sons, Michael D. Sawyer and Claude B. Sawyer.

Survivors are his children, Clyde Reginald Sawyer (Barbara) of Darien, Ga., Jimmie Ann Horne (Dale) of Ludowici, Ga., Fred Anthony Sawyer (Connie) of Apalachicola, Fl. and Forrest H. Sawyer of Darien, eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren, a sister, Patricia Todd of Valona, Ga., three brothers, Douglas Sawyer and John Sawyer both od Darien, Ga. and Stanford (Poochie) Sawyer of Manteo, N.C. and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM Monday 4/14/14 in the Northside Baptist Church in Darien, Ga. with Rev. Randall Collins officiating. Interment will follow in St. Andrews Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be: Pat Brannen, Carlton Sawyer, Travis Williams, Kyle Sawyer, Daniel Sawyer and Britt Horne. Honorary pallbearers will be Fisherman of McIntosh County.

The family will receive friends in the Northside Baptist Church in Darien on Monday from 1 to 2 PM and request in lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice, 664 Scranton Rd, Brunswick, Ga. 31525.
