Ricardo Hurtado, 58, of Brunswick, departed this life Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at SGHS Brunswick Campus. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 pm Monday, October 30, 2023 in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Chaplain William Barrow officiating. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Cemetery in Jesup with David Hurtado, Joshua Hurtado, Jacob Hurtado, Isaac Avila, Pablo Romo, and Abraham Feria serving as pallbearers.
Born April 4, 1965 in Uruapan, Michoacan, Mexico to the late Leobardo and Margarita T. Hurtado, he had been a resident of Brunswick since 2004. Mr. Hurtado was the owner of Blue Bay Mexican Grill on St. Simons Island. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed camping, motorcycles, cars, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a grand host to many gatherings, amazing cook, enjoyed good food and always willing to lend a hand. He enjoyed laughing; pranking, welcoming anyone to join in on the fun. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Georgina Hurtado of Brunswick. Three sons; Jacob Hurtado (Chris) of West Palm Beach, FL, David Hurtado (Amanda) of Brunswick, Joshua Hurtado of Brunswick, and three grandchildren. Harrison Wade Hurtado, Beckham Hayes Hurtado, and Henry Leobardo Hurtado. Four siblings, Alex Hurtado of Brunswick, Socorro Churchman (Michael), Soledad Romo (Pablo) all of Lawrenceville, and Rosario Avila (Tony) of Jesup. Several nieces and nephews, Mathana Hoppe, Alex Hurtado, Annie Churchman, Rachel Churchman, Pablo Romo, Natalia Romo, Isaac Avila, Sylvia Avila, Abraham Feria, Gerson Nuñez, Alejandra Nuñez.
