Richard C. Caton, 71, artist, gentleman farmer, retired Jekyll Island Authority Director of Public Safety, and United States Air Force veteran, passed away at home July 19, 2016. Survivors include his loving wife, Jan Caton, brother, Glenn Caton, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and his close friends for 60 years, John Carswell & family.
Richard was a talented painter whose work and essays can be found on his website, www.boggybottom.com. His kind heart, generosity, humor and creativity brought immeasurable joy, comfort and inspiration to the people and animals that his life touched.
Richard wrote, "As humans we are a vessel for the immortal soul. That is our purpose, and the purpose of all living things."
