

He was born March 11, 1949, in Waycross, Georgia.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, James Gillis Strickland and mother, Lavonia Rewis Strickland, several sisters, one brother, and a step-son, Carlton Bird Persall, III.
Richard is survived by his wife, Brenda Strickland, daughters; Teresa Strickland (Timmy), Toni Bennett (Jeff), Tammy Dennison, (Troy), and April Rooks. Nine grandchildren; Kelly, Brooke, Cameron, Tori, Katelyn, Aiden, Damon, Rylee, and Hailey. Several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. All of whom he loved very much.
He was known as Richie by his wife and "Bullett" by his sister-in-law, Lori. He was dedicated to his family and a hard worker. Throughout his working years, he held many titles; handyman, mechanic, electrician, and plumber. The two that meant the most to him, though, were husband and father.
Richie's hobbies were motorcycles, old cars, antiques, guns and flamingos.
A memorial service for Richard will be held Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, 3321 Glynn Avenue, Brunswick, Georgia 31520. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service.
