Roger Eugene Greene

A memorial service will be held at 2 PM Thursday the 29th of August 2013 at the Lighthouse Baptist Church, 126 Goodtown Dr. Brunswick, GA 31525, with Pastor David Hudson officiating, with a private inurnment in Palmetto Cemetery.

Mr. Greene’s honorary pall bearers are Dr. Mitchell Jones, Dr. Salim Osta, Physician’s Assistant Ish Osta, Dr. Marsha Certain, Dr. Timothy Jamieson, Dr. A.W. Strickland, Dr. Stephen Chitty, Dr. Walter Scott, Dr. Sidney Smith, Dr. Herman Levy, Dr. Enrique Fernandez and his Heartland Hospice Staff. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the doctors and their staff whose expertise and care that gave us 13 more wonderful years together.

Mr. Greene is a native of Waycross., GA., born the 22nd of December 1946 to the late Donevan C. Greene and the late Lois Blackie Greene. Mr. Greene has been a resident of Glynn County since 1998. He was a member of the United States Air Force Reserves and was employed, and a member of the IBEW Local #508 Union as an electrician from which he retired. He was also a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church and an avid fisherman and hunter. He leaves behind many fond memories that will be cherished by all.

In addition to Mr. Greene’s parents he is preceded in death by a brother Freddie Greene.

Mr. Greene is survived by his loving wife of 25 years Susan Greene of Brunswick, GA; two daughters Lindy Robertson of Marietta, GA and Stacy Rozier and of Screven, GA; a step-daughter Kellie Smith of Tampa, FL; two step-sons Michael Weis of White Plains, GA and Brandon Weis of Brunswick, GA; a sister Donna Ballard and her husband Jim of Claxton, GA; sister-in-law Harriette Greene of Waynesville, GA; twelve grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many other relatives. .
