

He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Linda Bennett Kirkland of Cox, Georgia; his son, Ronnie Lee Kirkland, Jr. (Cath) of Cox, Georgia; his daughter, Tina Kirkland Singleton of Brunswick, Georgia; and his three grandchildren: Koie Kirkland Conrad (Dillion) of Brunswick, Georgia; Sterlin Christopher Singleton (Natalie) of Brunswick, Georgia; and Austin William Singleton of Brunswick, Georgia. Ronnie was the proud great-grandfather of Lottie Rae Conrad and Zander Hayden Singleton. He is also survived by his brother, Jerry Kirkland of Jesup, Georgia, and his sister, Dot Fite of Asheville, North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hunter L. Kirkland and Louise W. Kirkland; his brother, Jimmy Kirkland; and his beloved great-grandson, Lynden Banks Singleton.
Ronnie was a faithful member of Darien Church of God and an avid outdoorsman. He was a member of the Golden Isles Bass Masters Club and Altamaha Bass Masters, where he enjoyed competing in bass fishing tournaments. He also loved hunting and spending time outdoors. Ronnie's passion for fishing and hunting brought him countless friendships, unforgettable memories, and a lifetime of enjoyment.
Ronnie retired from Hercules/Pinova after 52 years of dedicated service. He was a hardworking and loyal employee who took great pride in his work.
Ronnie never met a stranger. He loved to talk, had a heart of gold, and loved his family deeply. He will be remembered for his kind spirit, warm smile, generous heart, unwavering love for his family, and the lasting impact he made on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
A funeral service will be held at 11am on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at Darien Church of God in Darien, GA followed by interment at McIntosh Family Cemetery in Townsend, GA.
