
Roy E. Kemp, 76, of Brunswick, died Friday, September 2, 2011 at Hospice of The Golden Isles. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Tuesday, September 6, 2011 in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. JW Griffin and Ricahrd Kemp officiating. Interment will follow at 3PM with military honors in Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville, Georgia, with nephews and great nephews serving as pallbearers.
Born July 21, 1935 in Glynn County, Georgia to the late Fred R. and Victoria W. Kemp, he was a U.S. Army Veteran and was a former employee of Glynn County Public Works. Mr. Kemp was a lifelong resident of Glynn County and was of the protestant faith. He was also an avid sports fan. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, James E. Kemp, Garland Kemp, O.M. Kemp, and Carlos Kemp, three sisters, Atha Mae Kemp Morgan, Mary Eleanor Kemp Owens, and Leola Kemp Hardy.
Survivors include two brothers, Wyman Kemp of Alabama, and Wayne Kemp of Brunswick, his fiancée, Delores Naves of Brunswick and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday, September 5, 2011 from 6PM until 8 PM at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of The Golden Isles or The American Cancer Society.
