He was born in Antiquity, OH on May 25, 1935. He lived in Freedom, PA and attended Freedom High School before retiring from J and L Steel Corporation, in Aliquippa, PA. He later enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 1953, during the Korean Conflict, where he earned Fleet Marine Force badges and a National Defense Service Medal before being honorably discharged.
He was married to Clare Roush on October 22nd, 1990. He is survived by Clare (wife), Lisa Sowerby (child), Justin Guess (grandchild), Jenna Guess (grandchild), Amelia Guess (great grandchild), and Alex Goodin (great-grandchild).
A memorial gathering will be held at the home of Cal, located at 109 Brighton Circle, Brunswick, Georgia, 31525 on Saturday, February 24th, from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm.
