Sandra Britt Mitchell

Sandra Britt Mitchell, 62, passed away Friday, March 11, 2016 at the Mayo Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. A celebration of Sandra’s life will be held 11 a.m. Sunday, April 3, 2016 at the A,W. Jones Heritage Center, (Lighthouse), 610 Beachview Dr., St. Simons Island, GA 31522; with Celebrant Chuck Helderman officiating. Family request casual attire come as you are, reception will follow the service.

Sandra was born in Staunton, Virginia November 20, 1953, daughter of the late Odis Leo Britt and the late Ruby Gladys Bryant. She has been a resident of Brunswick for thirty two years. Sandra was a homemaker and of the Christian faith. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and enjoying the beach. Sandra was always welcoming and excited to spend time with family and friends.

Survivors include her husband David Mitchell of Brunswick, GA; Sandra’s oldest son Gary Reed, Jr., his wife, Teresa, their children, Taylor, Garrett, and Brittain Reed of Richmond Hill, GA; son Christopher Reed of Brunswick, GA; brother Samuel Britt of Bluffton S.C; and her longtime friend Edith Whitaker of St. Simons Island, GA.

Family request memorial contributions be made in Sandra Mitchell’s honor to Salvation Army, 1624 Reynolds St. Brunswick, GA. 31520.
