Sara M. Dillard

Sara’s lifelong passion and testament to her Christian faith was medical missions. She spent years ministering to the medical needs of the people on Roatan, Honduras. She treasured the many friends she made on Roatan and the people she served there. She also spent time ministering in Haiti and Nicaragua.

Sara was a longtime member of Christian Renewal Church where she was cherished by the congregation and enjoyed participating in weekly worship, Bible study, and missions activities.

Sara was one of the most generous and nurturing people you could know. She loved taking care of her family and was always willing to give her time, her attention, or whatever she had to someone who needed it. She had a way of making people feel loved and cared for.

She also loved the beach and the simple joy of spending time with the people closest to her. Sara loved her family deeply.

Sara is survived by her husband, Gene Dillard; her daughter, Leigh Ann Baeza and her husband, Joe Baeza; and her son, Jim Fucetola and his wife, Scarlet Fucetola. Sara is also survived by Gene’s family, who became her family too, including Mike Dillard and his wife Debbie; Gene’s daughter, Michelle Arias; and Gene’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jamie Hartzog and her husband, Luke; John Ryan Hurd and his wife, Kelsey; Mitchell Fucetola and his wife, Maddie; Jacob Fucetola and his wife, Leila; and Luke Fucetola and his wife, Mackenzie. Sara was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Hazel and Finn, who brought her so much happiness and joy.

She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear friends, and members of her church and missionary family who loved her and whose lives were made better simply by knowing her.

Sara will be remembered for her strong faith, her giving heart, and the way she loved and cared for people. She spent her life serving others, loving her family, and putting her faith into action. The example she set and the love she gave will continue to live on through her family and the many people whose lives she touched.

A celebration of Sara’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Christian Renewal Church in Brunswick, Georgia.
