

James was born January 5, 1949 in Jesup, Georgia to the late Millard A. Jackson and Lula Mae Westberry Jackson. He is a lifelong resident of Glynn County, where he graduated from Glynn Academy in 1968. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War where he received a purple heart. He loved photography, painting and wood working. He was a very good hearted person and will be missed by many. He was also a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers: James Millard Jackson and Kenneth Eugene Jackson; and one sister: Madelyn Moxley.
Survivors include his two daughters: Sandra Harris of Brunswick and Penny Mcclanahan of Columbia, SC; two grandsons: John Michael and Liam; a sister: Helen Harris (Parell) of Brunwick; a brother: Vernon Jackson, Sr. (Sadie) of Jesup; and numerous nieces and nephews.
