Jean was one of eight children born to Ottis and Vesta Oliver Anderson in Collins Georgia. She graduated in 1958 and was married that same year to John Henry Rewis of Cobbtown Georgia. John Henry was a shrimper and they lived in various places along the southeast Georgia coast until settling in McIntosh County in 1969.Jean kept children in her home and worked as a seamstress at Eulonia Dry Cleaners for 18 years. She was a member of Townsend Church of God and Bay Harbor Church of God in recent years but attended Crescent Baptist Church the last two years.
In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and crocheting. Most of all Jean enjoyed her family and especially her grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Rewis, her parents, Vesta and Ottis Anderson, Sr., two brothers, Ottis Anderson Jr. and Calvin Anderson, a sister, Mildred Anderson, and a great granddaughter, Anastyn Jade.
She is survived by three children, a daughter, Lisa Jonette Rewis Gore of St Simons Island, and two sons, John Kevin Rewis of Crescent and Henry Kent Rewis of Brunswick; three sisters, Myrtle Mauke of Prattville Alabama, Frances Bradley ( Johnny) of Statesboro, and Margaret Greene of Collins; a brother, Steve Anderson of Collins; ten grandchildren, Timothy Jerome Gore (Jennifer) of Warner Robins, Jonathan Ansel Gore (Alyssa Outhwaite) of Aiken, South Carolina, Jared Franklin Gore of Meridian, Taylor Cheyenne Milton of Crescent, Bonnie Jean Rewis (Ashton) of Ludowici, Somersby Jade Corbin (Brandon) of McIntosh County, Allison Kelsey Rewis (Anthony) of McIntosh County, Shelby Nicole Rewis, John Michael Rewis and Gabriel Lee Rewis, all of McIntosh County; seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 21, 11:00 am at Crescent Baptist Church, 1810 Susie Baker Road, Crescent, Georgia with Pastor Cade Bazemore officiating. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service with reception following, also at the church. Business Casual dress is encouraged.
Active pallbearers will be Robert Sikes, Ashton James, Brandon Corbin, Anthony Johnson and Keith Oglesby.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
