Susan Snyder Reeves

April 10, 2015 at her residence following a brave and graceful fight with an extended illness.

Susan is a long-time resident of St. Simons Island, Ga., born March 13, 1956 to the late Dr. Willard Alexander Snyder, and Virginia Holley Snyder. She graduated from Brunswick High School, Vanderbilt University, and Vanderbilt Law School. Susan most recently managed grants for MAP International and, later, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.

She spent many happy hours enjoying the beach and gardening at home but also cherished her time spent traveling abroad. A lifelong animal lover, Susan happily gave several older dogs their forever home. Her love of pottery brought joy to herself and her family and friends. She most valued spending time with loved ones.

Susan is survived by her daughter Catherine Holley Reeves of St. Simons Island; mother, Virginia Holley Snyder of St. Simons Island; brothers, Willard Alexander Snyder, Jr., M.D. (Carol) of Brunswick and David Claude Snyder, M.D. (Ellen) of Atlanta; and five nieces and nephews, Emma Snyder and Will Snyder of Brunswick and Laura Snyder, Mary Beth Snyder and Matt Snyder of Atlanta.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Golden Isles, Glynn Visual Arts, or Labrador Retriever Rescue of Florida.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 11a.m. at St. Simons Presbyterian Church. Arrangements are entrusted to Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home and Oglethorpe Crematorium. www.domillerandsons.com
