Suzanne Rae Gollner Myers, 58, of Kingsland, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at Southeast Georgia Health System, Brunswick Campus.
Suzi was born March 9, 1953 in Youngstown, OH to the late Rita Mae Fabian Gollner and the late William Roy Gollner. A 1971 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School in Austintown, OH, Suzi moved to Kingsland, GA with her husband, James in 2002. Suzi was a loving mother, grandmother and sister and loved to cook and take care of her family. She also enjoyed going out to her garden and “digging in the dirt” and rooting for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football team. One accomplishment that Suzi was most proud of was when she was asked to serve as the ombudsman on the USS Oak Ridge in the late 1980’s.
In addition to Suzi’s parents, she is preceded in death by a son, James William Myers.
Survivors include her loving husband of 29 years, James Myers, her daughters, Shannon Spencer (Ian) of Brunswick, GA, Jenni Crites (Nicholas) of San Clemente, CA and Elizabeth Myers of Kingsland, her sons, Terrence Spencer (Nikki) of Poulsbo, WA and Daniel Clancy Spencer of New Middletown, OH, her grandchildren, Stephanie Crews, Terrence Spencer III, Spencer Crews, Christopher Spencer, Brian Spencer, Taylor Spencer, Landen Crites, Graysen Crites, Braelyn Spencer, and Charlianne Crites, her sisters, Michelle Planton (Gary) of Clearwater, FL and Janine Kemper (Tom) of San Carlos, CA, her brothers William Gollner (Amber) of Ashburn, VA and Timothy Gollner (Sharen) of Fairfax, VA. Suzi is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and guests from 6 pm. - 8 pm. Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, Brunswick, GA.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Friday, October 21, 2011, in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with the Dr. Wright Culpepper officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Park Cemetery in Brunswick.
Active Pallbearers will be Stephen Manley, Spencer Crews, Mark Schallenberger, Daniel Spencer, Terrence Spencer and Nicholas Crites.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Abraham Cheong and his staff, and the doctors, nurses and staff at the SGHS Cancer Care Center, SICU, and fourth floor Oncology.
Memorial contributions may be made to Southeast Georgia Health System Foundation and designated for cancer treatment, 2415 Parkwood Dr. Brunswick, GA 31520
