Syble was born in Claxton, Georgia to parents Edward Louis Oglesbee and Dorather Hendrix Oglesbee. As a young woman, she met and married Gerald Monroe Ahl and the family moved to Brunswick. Syble worked at the Glynn County Board of Education as a Food Service Manager and retired after 26 years of service. She enjoyed gardening and working with her flowers, doing various arts and crafts and loved to cook and bake. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Claxton.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Gerald; three daughters, Pamela Kay Dugger (Chris) of Jacksonville, FL, Tammy Elaine Hutchens (Ben) of St. Johns, FL and Kathy Renee Ahl of Brunswick; five grandchildren, Hillary Ahl of Brunswick, Jessica Mahas of Auburn, AL, Justin Dugger and Christi Dugger, both of Jacksonville and Devin Hutchens and Cole Hutchens, both of St. Johns; two brothers, Edward Oglesbee (Linda) of Claxton and Wayne Oglesbee (Barbara) of Ponte Vedra and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be Friday at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Syble’s brother, Edward Oglesbee officiating. Public visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:00. Burial will follow in Chapel Park Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Chris Dugger, Justin Dugger, Ben Hutchens, Cole Hutchens and John Mahas.
