Terry was born June 10, 1942 in Dover, Ohio and grew up in Canfield, Ohio. He was the son of the late Howard N. Brown and the late Kathleen Brown. He was a devoted husband for forty-four years to Joan Brown. Terry and his wife have resided on Saint Simons Island, Georgia for the past eighteen years. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and Economics from Hiram College in Hiram, Ohio. Terry was inducted into the Hiram College Sports Hall of Fame for his outstanding basketball skills. He served his country honorably in the United States Army and was deployed to Vietnam during the Vietnam War. He was a retired executive with Nationwide Insurance Company with thirty-seven years of employment and received CLU and CPCU achievements in the insurance profession. Terry enjoyed the island living and was a proud member of the Sea Palms Men’s Golf Association. Fellow members of the Sea Palms Men’s Golf Association will serve as honorary pall bearers.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Howard N. and Kathleen Brown; a sister, Patricia Thompson Davis. He is survived by his loving wife, Joan Brown of Saint Simons Island, GA; a daughter, Tracy J. Smith (Matthew) of Bluffton, SC; three precious grandchildren, Grace Baldree, Taylor and Joshua Smith of Bluffton, SC; one sister, Kay Abel (Dick) of Canfield, OH; one sister-in-law, Jean Rose and one brother-in-law, Jeff Parlet (Lydia).
Terry loved to spend time with his family and friends. He was an avid sports fan and deer hunter. He had a true passion for the sport of golf. Terry will be missed by all who knew and loved him. His family will have many fond memories to cherish for years to come.

A Funeral Service to honor Terry’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 8, 2017 in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. The Reverend Wright Culpepper will officiate the service.
