

Thomas Ernest McDonald, 70, of Brunswick, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2012 at his residence. Tom was born December 13, 1941 to the late Ernest Anthony McDonald and Annie Willis McDonald in Eastman, Georgia. He grew up in Macon, GA but was a resident of Tucker, GA for 40 years. He was a high school graduate of Lanier Senior High School and went on to Georgia Tech where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree. Tom was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Brunswick where he was a member of the Duncan Sunday School Class. He also supported his daughters with Girl Scouts and stayed an active member. Tom was a devoted family man and an avid runner, having run in 25 consecutive Peachtree Road Races.
Tom is survived by his wife: Janet Powell McDonald; two daughters: Missy Morrison (Scott) of Brunswick and Amanda Berretta (Michael) of Roswell; four grandchildren: Mac Morrison, Rachel Morrison, Hannah Berretta and Nicholas Berretta; and one sister: Hannah Greene of Macon.
A memorial service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church in Brunswick with Rev. Jim McIlrath officiating. The family will have a visitation an hour prior to the service.
