Tim Wellford, 54, of St. Simons Island, died Monday, July 23, 2018 at SGHS Glynn. A private memorial service will be held in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Reverend Paul Reed officiating.
Born August 13, 1963 in Laurel, Maryland, to Charles and Katherine O. Wellford he was a graduate of Arundel High School in Gambrills, MD, and Baltimore Culinary Institute. Mr. Wellford was the owner of Sandcastle Café & Grille on St Simons Island and had been a resident for 30 years. Tim was a dedicated father, and local business owner. He devoted his life to his daughter and business. He had a fierce passion for the culinary arts, a deep love of rock music, and the ability to light up any room he walked into. He will be deeply missed.
Survivors include his daughter Catherine Wellford and Christopher McDougald of Woodstock, GA, lifelong partner Melissa Wellford of St. Simons Island, his parents, Charles and Pat Wellford of Round Hill, VA, and a sister Kathy Durand and Pete.
