Vicki Lynn Townsley Bell

Vicki Lynn Bell, 60, of St. Simons Island, died Thursday, February 20, 2014 at her residence. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, February 24, 2014 at First Baptist Church of St. Simons Island with Rev. Felix Haynes officiating. Born December 26, 1953 in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, to George R. and Sara F. Townsley, she was a former travel agent with Intropa Tours. Ms. Bell had been a resident of St. Simons Island since 1999 and was a member of the First Baptist Church of St. Simons Island where she was active in the choir. She was preceded in death by her father George R. Townsley.

Having grown up in California, Vicki spent most of her life in the West (Texas and Arizona); she embodied typically western ideals of hard work, independence, and a spirit of adventure. As a director of international tours, she was able to see much of the world. She had a naturally beautiful voice and performed in various musical events and sang in church choirs throughout her life. Vicki was a graduate of Orange High School and Santa Ana College in California. She had close friends, many from childhood, who loved her and stayed loyal and true until the end of her days. Survivors include her mother, Sara F. Townsley of St. Simons Island, two brothers, Watson L. Holloway and wife Jane of Big Bear Lake, CA; Donald P. Holloway and wife Olivia of Chino Hills, CA; and several nieces and nephews. Edo Miller and Sons Funeral home is in charge of arrangements. www.edomillerandsons.com
