Virginia P. "Billie" Doss

Private graveside services will be conducted at 2PM Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Oakland Cemetery in Waycross, Georgia with Rev. Jim Crandall officiating.

Billie was born in Waycross, Georgia on January 31, 1926 to the late Jasper and Mackie A. Davis. She graduated from Waycross High School and went to work in Savannah as a welder building Liberty Ships. There she met her husband to be Kennard J. Doss. They married in 1943 and spent 50 years together before his death in 2003. Billie had been a resident of Glynn County since 1958 and was a member of First Baptist Church of Brunswick, where she was very active and involved in church functions. She retired as Executive Secretary of The Red Cross of Glynn County. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by three sisters.

Survivors include her two sons, Ken M. and Dave A. Doss and their wives, five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, and two sisters.
