Walter DeWitt Ward

Walter DeWitt Ward, 62, of Brunswick, departed this life Monday, March 7, 2022. A celebration of life gathering will be conducted from 2 pm until 4 pm Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.

Born October 7, 1959 in Macon, Georgia to the late Harry Julian Ward, Sr. and Ruth Virginia T. Ward, he was a graduate of Glynn Academy Class of 1977. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from David Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee where he studied under a full baseball and academic scholarship. Walter was retired from Georgia Power and had lived most of his life in Glynn County. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Brunswick. Walter was an avid golfer but most of all, cherished the time he spent fishing.

Survivors include two daughters, Mallory Ward of St. Simons and Meredith Ward Hunter (Kilah) of Brunswick, a brother, Julian Ward (June) of Statesboro, nephews Bradley Ward (Rosanna) of Statesboro and Christopher Ward of Decatur, and niece April Wade (Jason) of Isle of Hope.
