William Conn Cook
June 22, 1941 – August 2, 2015

William Conn Cook, 74, of Hortense, GA, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2015 at Northeast Georgia Heath System in Gainesville, GA. Funeral Service will be held 11 AM , Thursday, August 6, 2015 in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, with Reverend Jim Crandall officiating. Interment will follow in Palmetto Cemetery. Larry Holloway, J.W. Wiggins, Vance Watson, Davie Brown, Gary Williams, John Winslett, Mel Powell, Glenn Henderson, Tom Tompkins, and Jamie Vaughn wil be the serving pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. James Heery, Dr. W. A. Snyder, Jr. and Dr. William Everett.
Family will receive friends Wednesday, August 5, 2015 from 6 PM – 8 PM at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
Mr. Cook was born June 22, 1941 in Brunswick, GA to the late Freddie C. Cook and the late Alma Wyolene Hand Cook. Mr. Cook is a graduate if Glynn Academy, and was employed by the Brunswick Pulp and Paper Mill for ten years, manager of Ellis Auto Parts for twenty five years, and the 3 R of Charleston managing the Brunswick location until retirement.
Mr. Cook was a very talented man that could make anything out of nothing. He enjoyed spending time with his family and at his second home in Blairsville, GA, in the North Georgia Mountains.
In addition to Mr. Cook’s parents he is preceded in death by his son Michael S. Cook; and a brother Lester Cook.
Survivors include his wife of 54years Lettie Ann Cook of Hortense, GA; son Mark B. Cook and wife Heather of Brunswick, GA; daughter Hilda Cook Gay and husband Tiffany of Lyons, GA; three grandchildren Lucy Cook Duncan of Mt. Vernon, GA, April Cook Crews and husband ED, and Georgia Ann Cook both of Brunswick, GA; six great- grandchildren Ed and Amy Crews, Josey Lee McNicol, Savannah Nicole McNicol, James Michael Duncan, and Shane William Duncan; brother Donnie Cook and wife Marie; sister LaWana Cook Smith and husband Ed; numerous nieces,nephews and extended family members.
