William James Coppedge Jr.

William J. Coppedge, Jr., 77, of Brunswick died Monday, February 20, 2012 at his residence. A memorial service will be held 2PM Sunday, February 26, 2012 in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Ligon officiating.

Born March 27, 1934 in Elbert County, Georgia to the late William J. and Nell C. Coppedge, Sr. he was veteran of the US Air Force, and an educator, retiring from the Long County School System. He received his Masters Degree from West Georgia College, and was of the Methodist faith. Mr. Coppedge had been a resident of Glynn County since 1978, and enjoyed sports and riding his bicycle on the beach. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Eleanor C. Raiford.

Survivors include three daughters, Rena Hoogacker of Cumming, Cindy Jarriel and husband Jerry of Darien, and Alesia Kay Mizell and husband Michael of Lake Panasoffkee, FL, five grandchildren, Christopher Jarriel and wife Caitlin, Megan Hoogacker, Jay Hoogacker, Jr. and fiancee’ Kristine Strickland, Mallory Jarriel, and Tegen Mizell, one great grandchild, Hayley Tippens, and one sister, Jane Jenkins and husband Crawford of Stone Mountain.
