Bill was born December 25, 1933 in Brooklyn, New York the son of the late William Albert Eubanks and the late Kathryn Alberti Eubanks. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Physics from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Bill resided in Maryland for thirty-five years, but was always proud to have been a native of Brooklyn, New York and a jet pilot with the United States Air Force. He was an avid sailor and was a member of the Annapolis Yacht Club. He was retired from Westinghouse where he had a successful career designing radars.
After his retirement, Bill and his wife moved to Saint Simons Island, Georgia. He was a member of the Lord of Life Lutheran Church on Saint Simons Island. He was a member of the Church Choir and was passionate about singing. He and his wife have enjoyed the peaceful lifestyle that the island offers for the past twenty years.
Left to cherish Bill’s memories are his wife of sixty three years, Gay Eubanks of Saint Simons Island, GA; his three sons, William B. Eubanks (Kathleen) of West River, MD, Laurence C Eubanks (Kimberly) of Arnold, MD, and Timothy R. Eubanks (Hon Yin) of Centreville, MD; his five grandchildren, Jessica Byrd (Robert), Laurence “L J” Eubanks Jr, Ryf Eubanks, Tai Eubanks, and Mia Eubanks; His two precious great grandchildren, Harper and Grayson Byrd; one sister, Mary Lou Semke; and one step sister, Ruth Casey. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Bill loved to spend time with family and friends. He always will be remembered as a fun guy that enjoyed a good time. He also enjoyed fishing and crabbing. Bill also enjoyed golfing and dancing. He was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. His family will have many fond memories to cherish for years to come.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4:00 PM Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at the Lord of Life Lutheran Church on Saint Simons Island with Pastor Bonnie Lanyi officiating.
