William Buford Lashlee Jr., 94, of St. Simons Island, GA, died peacefully at his residence on January 16, 2022. Born on October 25, 1927, in Madisonville, KY, to the late William Buford Lashlee Sr. and Ruby P. Lashlee. He moved to Bowling Green, KY, at an early age. He graduated from Bowling Green High School in 1945 and immediately enlisted and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Upon being Honorably Discharged, he entered Western Kentucky University, graduating in 1950 with a BS Degree in Business. He accepted a position, in 1951, with the Financial Service Division of American Standard Corporation. Following his retirement, from American Standard, Mr. Lashlee was involved in numerous business ventures in Kentucky, California and Texas. He has been a full-time resident of St. Simons Island since 1993. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Lois F. Lashlee; two daughters, Ann Martin (Wayne) and Karen Bell, of St. Simons Island; three grandchildren, Faulkner Bell (Laura) of St. Simons Island, Carson Bell of Athens, GA, and Hannah Martin of St. Simons Island; and one great-grandchild, Jackson Bell, of St. Simons Island. Mr. Lashlee was a member of Christ Church Frederica, where the family will hold a graveside memorial service, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of the Golden Isles or the Alzheimer’s Association.
