Alice Elizabeth Gordon

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Alice on September 17, 2016 at the age of 95. She was the daughter of the late William Rudolph Budenski and Catherine Elizabeth Zima. Alice was born August 21, 2016 in Dinant, Camrose County, Alberta. While she was a young girl, her family moved to East Coulee, Alberta. She married William John Gordon on April 24, 1943 in Calgary, Alberta. They spent much of their married life living in the Northwest Territories where her husband worked for the Hudson’s Bay Company and Alice was a nurse. She was an avid reader and enjoyed going to the movies. Alice is survived by her sister Bernice Dorothy Gillespie; her nephews Tom (Tracy) Gillespie and their daughters Janine and Natasha (Kenny); Tim (Denise) Gillespie and their sons Kyle and Ryan; her niece Tammy Gillespie and her children Michelle, Maddison, Jacob and Jackson; her nephew Bill (Terry) Budenski and his sons Brian and Adam; and her niece Ann Howells and her son John (Alicia); great-nieces Sandie (Gianni) Sgambaro and Cathy (Kelly) Reynolds and great-nephew Dennis Budenski. She is predeceased by her much loved husband, brother Dennis Budenski and his wife Anne, nephew Henry Budenski and his wife Shirley, and brother-in-law Bill Gillespie. A Celebration of Life will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 - 4th St NW (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2016. Interment will follow at Drumheller Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Bethany Care Foundation (1001 – 17th Street N.W., Calgary, AB, T2N 2E5).
