1950 - 2015
Allan Gibson passed away on October 18, 2015 after a brief struggle with cancer.
He is survived by his wife Gaye; son Thomas; mother Nora Gibson; sister Linda Gibson (Fred Rhodes); nephews Drew Smith, Stephen Smith and their families; sister-in-law Linda Pipe (Don); nieces Jocelyn, Erin and Heather Burden; and nephews Stephen and John. He was predeceased by his father Andy Gibson, parents-in-law Gay and Lloyd French, and brother-in-law Stephen Burden. Allan was employed for 40 years by the Calgary Herald. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. Richie Sinha, Dr. Jose Monzon, and especially to Dr. Wequar Ahmad and the emergency room staff at the Peter Lougheed Hospital. As per Al’s wishes no service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made directly to the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, 1331- 29 St N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 4N2.
