It is with heavy hearts that the family of Anne Parsons, announce that she passed away peacefully in Calgary, Alberta on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at the young age of 67 after a very brief battle with cancer.
Anne was born in Coleman, Alberta in 1957 where her passion of the mountains and being in nature also began. Anne found her peace walking through mountain trails, sitting by rippling rivers enjoying the sun or relaxing by a crackling campfire. This was her hearts home. She spent a great deal of time attending to her yard and garden where the pride in her efforts were on full display.
Anne had a deep soft-spot for animals, often saying she liked them better. She had a loyal following of squirrels in her yard that she would treat with a variety of tasty nuts she bought specially for them. They would find comfort in each other’s presence as she sat on her front stoop feeding them. She would light up interacting with dogs in particular. You would find her engaging her playful side and relentlessly spoiling “Rylee” with whom she called her “grand-dog”.
Anne was often quiet and analytical but in the right company she would find her reflective side and humour. She was strong, resilient and cared deeply about her family which she demonstrated in her own unique way.
Anne is loved, deeply missed and survived by her two children Steve (Tina) and Angie. She is also survived by her three brothers, Nick, Mike and Bill; two nieces, Shelley (Trish) and Nikki (Norm); a nephew Duane (Becky) and grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents John and Mary Fizor. May you find yourself reunited with them and rest peacefully. We love you.
The warmest and deepest appreciation to the doctors, nurses and support staff at the Rockyview Hospital, Unit 73 that helped mom and the family during a most difficult time.
A private family gathering will take place.
