I will miss our yearly phone calls. I will always remember going to church with her when we visited.  I will miss you great auntie.

Kerwood, Garry, Mella and families: My memories of your dear Mom/Aunt go back to the 60's at Camp Harmattan.  Watching the joy on her face as she sang in the “camp choir” affected me as a little kid and I wanted to grow up and sing joyfully just like Mrs. Corbett.   Anytime I met her through the years she was positive, cheerful and full of laughter.  She loved her Lord, her family and her church. She was so proud of all of you. Her presence in your lives will be missed.  Know there are people praying for you as you walk this year of “firsts”…. in particular this Christmas, being so close. -- Jeannie Cornish

Our condolences to you, Kerwood, Garry, and Mella. Your mother lived a long and productive life, and her influence will be felt for years to come.

 I lived close enough to her in Calgary that I would walk across the field for the occasional visit, often taking with me one or two of my Sheltie friends. We always received a warm, gracious welcome. I think she was especially delighted to see the Shelties and enjoyed sharing them with other residents!

Your mom was a woman of steadfast faith, and her upbeat personality  paid solid tribute to that. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

Just as a candle shines its light so other can see and be guided, Anne did that with her life.  She treated and loved each other the same.  I was honoured to call her my friend and so many other things that it would fill a page.  We will see you later!

Anne was my elementary school teacher at albert park elementary was an awesome lady always loved so sorry for your loss back in early 70s wow where did the time go  I now live in NB Canada but will always remember my favorite teacher

I really don't know where to begin. Mrs. Corbett was my grade 3 teacher at Albert Park Elementary. I had just failed my previous grade 3 class the year before and was feeling rather awkward. But once class started I knew that there was something different about my teacher. She was always happy and never had a cross word for anyone. Even during the difficult times of having to discipline a child in our class her reaction and composure was always full of grace and controll. She believed in everyone of her students. Another thing that stood out to me was her love of music. I still sing some of those songs that she taught us today. Mrs. Corbett instilled in me that love and I have gone on to become a part-time children's musician. I reconnected with Mrs. Corbett about 10 years ago and we had a wonderful time reminiscing about our days in Albert Park School and all the characters that we both knew. One thing that really tops the list for me was her love for Jesus. Although I wasn't a Christian  back in the day, I came to a saving faith in 1973 and in our most recent visit had great fellowship with her. I discovered that she was the last teacher in Albert Park to stop doing the Lords Prayer and that was only because she had to. I thank the Lord for her life. It has impacted so many. I know I will see her again and this brings great comfort to me. Her Legacy will live on in the people she touched.

Anne was a beautiful lady!  I knew her as a little girl, got reacquainted with her as an adult when Doug and I were at North Hill Nazarene while Doug was Associate pastor there.  Her smile was always welcoming, her words always encouraging--even when correction was needed, it was done in love.  May the Lord bless you and keep you close during this time of sorrow, but with Christ, there is joy in the morning!  Hang on to him till morning comes.  Judy (and Doug) Herbert, Edmonton, AB

My sincere sympathy to both of you. I have known your mother all of my life. She lived her life as a christian so consistently. I can still picture her up on the platform in the little Nazarene church in Bass River leading the singing and also singing solos. When your parents left Bass River and moved to Pictou County, your mother soon started a Sunday School.

In Calgary when she took her teacher training she would sometimes even start making bread before setting out for the day. You have so many reasons to be proud of her. 

My love and once again, my thoughts and prayers.

My prayers and positive energy are with you my good friend Garry, and wife Sandy. I heard so much about your amazing mother and know that she made a profound and positive difference on this earth. Her strength and good character shine through in you.
