Arlene was born in Prince Albert and raised in Lethbridge to Johnny and Emma Magnusson. Her adult life was spent in Calgary, where she was an amazing wife to her husband of nearly fifty years, Larry McCook (deceased), and the best “Mom” and “Granny” ever.
She is survived by her children, Dale Styner (Lori), Brad Styner (Yvette), Jolayne Leger (Marc), and Wendy Main, her sister, Aldis Willis, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, and had a special relationship with her niece and nephew. She adored the grandchildren and great grandchildren, and the newest great grandbabies, Cohen and August were the absolute highlight of her final months.
Her grandchildren will forever remember that she cheerfully attended every event possible and spent entire days at the Stampede with them from opening until closing, always with a smile and dressed to perfection.
Always impeccable in her appearance and style, she lit up every room she was in.
Aside from being an amazing Wife, Mom, Aunt, Granny and Great Grandma, she was also a loyal friend to many who will all miss her dearly. There are too many to mention but you know who you are, and we thank you.
Throughout the past several years Arlene chose many great charities to support and was a true philanthropist. She was always one to put others before herself. To carry on her giving ways she has requested that in lieu of flowers to please donate to the Parkinson Foundation of Alberta or Canada or the charity of your choosing.
