Barbara Joyce Blain was born on January 24th, 1936 in Red Deer, Alberta and entered her rest on Friday, September 14, 2012 in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 76 years and 9 months. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Sheryl Lee Archer of Great Falls,Montana; 3 sisters, Marie Wombold of Calgary, Alberta, Bernice Fox of Kelowna, B.C., and Shirley Kenzle of Red Deer, Alberta; 2 grandchildren, Joel Lipscombe of Missoula, Montana, and Tia Archer of Great Falls, Montana; 3 great grandchildren, Kori, Luka, and Lorena Lipscombe of Missoula, Montana; a stepdaughter, Vickie Snider of Calgary, Alberta and 3 step grandchildren, Sarina, Iverson Jr. and Jason Snider all of Calgary, Alberta and 2 step great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Barbara is predeceased by her husband Leonard Blain, her parents Carl and Florence Anderson and her daughter Laurie Lipscombe. Barbara loved baking since childhood, cooking and entertaining. Barbara will be remembered for her friendliness, hosting showers, birthday parties and the love of always being “on the go”. Barbara was always grateful for the care of her numerous caregivers in her later years. A Memorial Service will be held at Calgary Central Seventh Day Adventist Church (1920, 13 Avenue NW, Calgary, AB, T2N 1L3) on Wednesday, September 19th, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. Barbara will be missed by all her family and friends. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to the Building Fund of Calgary Central Seventh Day Adventist Church.
