It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of our beloved husband, father and brother Barry Chapman on November 3, 2017. His death has left a hole in all of our hearts. Barry was a smart, kind, caring, patient and compassionate man. He had suffered from epilepsy since the age of 40 and underwent intensive brain surgery five years ago, but he never lost the will to live life to the fullest. We believe it was his positive attitude that kept him going as long as he did. Barry had a heart of gold and would give you his last $20 and the shirt off his back. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Cindy Chapman; two children, Stephanie and James Chapman; as well as his son-in-law Randall March. He was a hardworking man who had always provided the very best for his family, and we will be forever grateful for having had him in our lives. Barry had a great sense of humour and never took anything too seriously. He loved to crack jokes and make people laugh. His happy disposition and beaming smile will be what we miss most about him. A Memorial Service will be held at FOSTER'S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 - 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen's Park Cemetery) on Friday, November 10, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers we ask that you donate whatever you feel comfortable with to the Epilepsy Foundation. We know that Barry’s memory will continue to live on with those that knew him as he touched the lives of everyone that he met. We will love him forever. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca.
