Bertha was born in Enschede, Netherlands on November 28, 1919.
Bertha and Leo were married right after the war on May 19, 1945 in Enschede and moved to Delft, Netherlands shortly thereafter.
In the fall of 1955, Bertha, Leo and family moved to Calgary, Canada, where they spent the winter living with Leo’s sister and family, before moving into their own home in Bowness. Bertha was an accomplished weaver and seamstress, as well as a member of the Rebekah Lodge.
Bertha & Leo enjoyed their retirement in their home in Bowness and loved spending time in the East Kootenay’s.
A private memorial service may be held at a later date.
