Betty Bingham

June 8, 1918 – August 14, 2012

Betty passed away peacefully at the Bow Crest Care Centre on Tuesday, August 14 at the age of 94 years. Betty is lovingly remembered by her husband, Earl Bingham; her three children, Marion (Ron) Kelly, Ross (Karen) McIntyre and Gordon (Linda) McIntyre; Earl’s children, Donna (Peter) Brunschwiler, Wayne Bingham, Ross (Sue) Bingham, Hugh Bingham, and Beth (Rob) Brookwell; 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Betty was predeceased by her first husband, Charles McIntyre in 1965, sister Mary Ottway, brother Dave Fraser and sister-in-law, Dorothy Fraser. Betty’s life was dedicated to her family and bringing family and friends together through cooking and entertaining. She especially cherished young babies and children and had a particular soft spot for the pet dogs in the family. Betty, Earl and their families enjoyed many happy summers together at the cabin in Chase, B.C.; travelling and gardening were pleasures that Betty and Earl shared together. She lived her life simply and honestly. A Celebration of Betty’s life will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 2 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to the Calgary Poppy Office (Veteran’s Food Bank and Support Services), #1-4539-6th Street N.E., Calgary, Alberta, T2E 3Z6, 403-265-6304.
