Brenda Lee Boyd

Brenda Lee Boyd (Bespflug) was born on April 17, 1949 in Oyen, Aberta. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 24, 2023 after spending the day with family enjoying Christmas snacks and family time. She was 74 years old.

Brenda was predeceased by the love-of-her life, Tom, and is survived by her daughter Karen (Boyd) Melathopolous (Nick), granddaughters Lauren and Lily, her son Bill Boyd (Casey), granddaughters Tara and Brooke, and daughter Shari Boyd. She is also survived by her sisters Sharon and Gloria and her brother Ken and his wife Barb, mom’s chosen sister.

Brenda married Tom on May 16, 1969 and raised their family in Grande Prairie, AB. She was a dedicated banker at the CIBC for over 20-years where she made many cherished friendships.

Brenda was strong willed and stubborn at times, but she also had an enormous heart and a unique sense of humor. She was generous, loyal, and loved her family deeply.

Christmas was Brenda’s favourite time of the year. She enjoyed decorating her home, baking many special treats, and cooking the full turkey dinner for her family. Even in declining health this year, Brenda decorated her home, and baked the family’s favourite squares and cookies.

Brenda’s Celebration of Life will be held on January 5, 2024 at 1:00 PM at the South Calgary Funeral Centre, 12700 Macleod Trail South, Calgary, AB.
