Catherine Blair Stables

She was born on October 29, 1929-the day the stock market crashed. But for those who knew Catherine, it was a blessed day. Born and raised in Edinburgh, Scotland, there never was a more Bonny Lass. Catherine moved to Calgary, Canada in 1952 to be with her love, John. She leaves behind two devoted daughters, Debra (David) and Rhonda (Russell) and her brother, Donald (Nina). Catherine was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, John Stables; her daughter, Elaine, who passed away in 1962; her sister, Elizabeth Christie (nee Reid) and her brother, James Reid. Mum, your warmth, your smile, your laugh, your sweetness and your quiet strength will live in our hearts forever. Thank you for loving us no matter what, for always seeing the best in us and always expecting the best from us. You gave so much and never expected anything in return. Your way was effortless and without pretense; a true inspiration! You had so much beauty and grace that you must be with the angels now and to us, you will always be our angel here on earth. Rest in peace, darling Mummy!
