Mrs. Chinnamma Joseph

Mrs. Chinnamma Joseph (85), wife of late Mr. A.G. Joseph, passed away in Calgary, Canada, on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, following a brief illness.

She is survived by her children, Geogy & Mini (Calgary), Gissy & Aniankunju (Mumbai), Geigy & Sandy (Atlanta), Geena & Jaimon (Dubai); her grandchildren, Krupa & Aji (Kochi), Chris & Chimmy (Mumbai), Reah & Grace (Calgary), Camille & Aaron (Atlanta) and Jeremy (Dubai); as well as her great grandchildren, Abigail (Kochi) and David & Joel (Mumbai). She is also survived by her brother, George Mathew.

Chinnamma was born on 11 March, 1932 in Aranmula, Kerala, India, the youngest daughter of late Mr. Thomas Mathai and late Mrs. Mariamma Mathai of Karuvelil, Aranmula. She was married to Mr. A. G. Joseph of Anjilivelil, Maramon, Kerala and worked as a registered nurse in Kuwait for several decades.

Chinnamma was a committed Christ follower and was passionate about sharing God’s love with others. She was a people person, and maintained lifelong relationships with people from all walks of life, irrespective of what stage of life they were in. She had a special relationship with her many nephews and nieces, their children and even grandchildren.

Chinnamma loved to travel and was an avid reader. She loved to cook for her family and enjoyed knitting in her spare time. She adjusted to all circumstances and taught herself to use the internet to stay connected with her wide network of friends and family around the world.

She will be greatly missed!

A Funeral Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Monday, July 31, 2017 at 2:00 p.m., with a visitation starting at 12:30 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca.
